ESCAPE
ESCAPE
Each week our facilitators hear heart-wrenching stories of violence, tragedy and survival.  Incarcerated women are not just "criminals;" most are victims first.  Each of these stories are based on actual events, however they are composites of some of the stories we have heard and all identifying information has been changed.  Pseudonyms are used and the pictures are of models and bear no resemblance to any participants.   Grammar has been changed as well.

"My Hope is gone!"  Maya's Story

"Now I don't sleep with a loaded gun next to my head"  Marta's Story

"My 9 year old daughter was raped and I'm here!"  Tanika's Story

"I was a mail-order bride"  Sarah's Story

"I killed my soul mate"  Elizabeth's Story

"Time to Fly"  A survivor's poem

Testimonials

"Yes, I would recommend this program to other women.  It is so informative as to identifying many of my issues as to why I am the way I am in adulthood!  I am not alone!!  And I've never really know which direction to go to help myself, and this class has provided me with a wealth of information for a healthy future."
